Honestly, thank goodness my previous stylist left town because otherwise I’d never been introduced to Kate. I’m not really a talker, but it never feels awkward (which I’ve totally experienced elsewhere). Great location with great parking, but the best part is the stellar haircut from Kate. Such a long overdue review, omg.I moved to Austin just over 1 year ago, and found Meghan soon after. Lucky me! She turned the mop I had into an actual style, and offered suggestions based on my routine. She has also taught me how to take better care of my hair, and I so look forward to my appointments with her!Recently I got the itch for long hair, and began researching extensions as I’d never done them before. I reached out to Kate to get the process started, and she has also been a dream. I mentioned I had a vacation coming up (less than 1 week from the consultation) and knowing it was a long shot, asked if there was any way she could squeak me in. And she made it happen. And THEN I needed a little more blending done the next day after the curls fell, and Kate met me a second time at the salon on a Saturday evening to make sure I was happy with the result before I left Sunday AM. She was incredibly thorough throughout the application and styling process, and provided ample after care instructions.I can not say enough good things about the girls at Last Satellite Salon. I appreciate them both so much. Do yourself a favor and pay them a visit - They are the best!

Kate is seriously the best! I tried other stylists after starting with kate over the last 5 years and she has remained my favorite! Her attention to detail and knowledge about products is unmatched. She also took my very dark brown hair to a beautiful blonde and back to dark again in the last couple of years. My hair is naturally super dry and she’s restored it to a voluminous masterpiece time and time again!!Last time she took my hair and did an all over color and deep conditioner treatment. Sara is amazing! I was referred by a friend and I’m extremely glad I booked with her. She was extremely thorough. I was going from a very light blonde to a darker brown. She took all the necessary steps to deposit color in first before depositing the brown to make sure it would adhere and turn out the true color. I was very impressed, she nailed it! The cut was perfect as well. There is now a lot of body to my hair, it doesn’t just look flat! I was mainly concerned about the thickness of my ends when it’s freshly cut. Sara fully listened to my concerns and focused on making sure my ends were not bulky. Looking forward to booking again!

I am not the kind of person who has a regular stylist, until I met Kate. Kate not only has the most badass name of all time, Kate Leatherwood, but she cuts hair in a way that FINALLY made me understand what a good haircut can do. I have coarse curly hair that I thought was hopeless, but now it curls instead of frizzes and it's wild ways are no more. She also does my highlights and color and I can't rave enough about the natural looking results. The salon itself is a little gem on south Lamar. Sara Sweeten is the best hair stylist I've ever had. I love how my curls just fall in the right place. I am all about effortless style and natural look. I don't need to blow dry it or do anything special to make it look good. Also love the brown color she uses, it looks vibrant and keeps my hair looking healthy. Sara is awesome, she always does a great job and is great company! I love how she really listens to what I want and it’s never a surprise. I always leave feeling better and that’s why you go get yer hair done right? You’d be surprised how hard it is to find someone who can do natural browns without making them too dark or brassy. Honestly the salon is in a weird location, it was hard to find and in one of the new builds that I try to avoid because they are taking over this city....but inside the salon has good energy and natural light, no harsh chemical smells or annoying music, just clean and calm like I like it. And really I’d go anywhere Sara has a chair 🙂
